Dmitriev called copper the new gold because of record exchange prices

Due to the growth of exchange prices for copper, this metal can be compared with gold in terms of investment attractiveness. This opinion was expressed by the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, special representative of the President of Russia for investment and economic cooperation Kirill Dmitriev.

"Cooper is the new gold," Mr. Dmitriev wrote in X.

The price of December copper futures on the Comex exchange on September 22 reached a record high of $6.9275 per pound.
