In infant formulas Nestle found violations of the composition of physicochemical indicators. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the materials of Rospotrebnadzor.
According to the agency, in the dry mixture for children “NESTOGEN 1” the composition did not correspond to the stated. In particular, the actual content of vitamin A was almost 4 times less, vitamin E - 2 times. Iodine content is also underestimated. In addition, the content of fatty acids significantly exceeds the amount indicated on the package.
Similar violations of the composition were found in the mixture “NESTOGEN 2”. Rospotrebnadzor recommended to strengthen control over manufactured products and issued a warning to Nestlé Russia.
In January, Nestlé Russia announced the recall of several batches of baby food to strengthen quality control. The reason was the identified potential risk of cereulide toxin in the raw material (arachidonic acid) supplied by a third party. After that, Rospotrebnadzor suspended the import of Nestle infant formula to Russia. The restrictions affected the mixtures “NAN 1 OPTIPRO”, “NAN 2 OPTIPRO”, “NAN Supreme”, “NAN EXPERPRO”, “NAN lactose-free”, “PreNAN”, “Nestogen Comfort” and “Alfare Amino”.
