Reshetnikov named tourism and catering as the leading areas in terms of wage growth dynamics

Salaries in tourism and catering are growing in Russia by 25% per year due to business competition for personnel, said the head of the Ministry of Economy Maxim Reshetnikov. According to him, these areas are leading in the dynamics of wage growth in the country.

At the same time, in absolute terms, salaries in tourism and catering remain low, said Maxim Reshetnikov, speaking at the Russian State University of Tourism and Service (RGUTIS), Interfax reports.

Mr. Reshetnikov reminded that due to the shortage of personnel, tourism lacks up to 20-25% of personnel. By 2030, the industry will need more than 300 thousand specialists. The Minister of Economic Development added that the demand for them will not fall, despite digitalization and robotization. At the same time, according to his estimates, artificial intelligence will be able to select routes, forecast demand, manage prices and analyze reviews.
