According to the ambassador, Sri Lankan airlines will be able to “over time” start flying to Russia. “It is beyond our control. But we hope that over time we will gradually be able to resolve these problems, and we will be able to resume our flights to Russia, she said.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Sri Lanka Ruwan Ranasinghe said that in the upcoming winter season from Pulkovo airport they plan to open charter flights to Sri Lanka. In addition to St. Petersburg, the launch of charter programs in Colombo was considered for Moscow and Yekaterinburg. In order to return flights, countries had to settle issues related to aircraft insurance.
