Crude oil shipments from the Middle East exceeded the volumes exported before the start of hostilities between the US and Israel against Iran. This is reported by Reuters with reference to the analytical company Kpler.
According to analysts, oil exports from the region exceeded pre-war indicators on September 24, as well as September 27-29, reaching values from 19.5 to 22.5 million barrels per day (bpd). From March 2025 to February 2026, the average export volume was 18 million bpd. As of October 1, the average seven-day value of exports was 18.5 million b/d. This indicator includes transit through the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea, export through terminals, as well as transshipment of cargo from ship to ship in the Gulf of Oman.
According to Kpler, total exports of oil, petroleum products, chemicals and liquid hydrocarbons (excluding gas) in the seven days to September 30 averaged 22.4 million bpd. In September, the number of consignments of liquefied natural gas (LNG) transported through the Strait of Hormuz also increased - the figure reached a maximum since February. Before the start of the war with Iran, about 125 large commercial vessels passed through the strait a day, and this route accounted for about 20% of the world’s supply of crude oil and LNG.
In March, G7 energy ministers said they were ready to take all necessary measures in coordination with the International Energy Agency (IEA) to combat rising oil prices due to escalation in the Middle East. By early October, the IEA released 325 million barrels of oil from the promised 400 million barrels. Last week, Brent crude exceeded $102 per barrel. US President Donald Trump has assured that oil prices will fall as soon as the US-Israeli military operation against Iran ends.
