Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed the head of the RSPP Alexander Shokhin Commissioner for the protection of the rights of entrepreneurs. The decree is published on the portal of legal acts. It came into force from the moment of signing on October 5.
By a separate decree, the head of state established ANO “Platform for working with entrepreneurs’ appeals”. This organization will provide the activities of the business ombudsman. Until 2027, organizations must allocate room and line in the budget.
The reform of the business ombudsman began to be discussed at the end of May. In June, the State Duma adopted amendments to the relevant law. They, in particular, specify the definition of the post and the requirements for the candidate for this post.
From 2012 to 2022, the position of business ombudsman was held by Boris Titov. After his departure, the seat was vacant. Alexander Shokhin, when appointed, will retain the post of head of the RSPP.
