Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree that allows the sale of Russian assets of the Italian bank UniCredit. The document is published on the website of legal acts.
The President allowed to reorganize UniCredit Bank and make transactions to purchase 100% of its shares. Additional permits for the sale of Russian assets are not required, the document says.
UniCredit Bank is included in the list of credit institutions, for transactions with shares and shares of which special permission of the President of Russia is required. In May, UniCredit announced it had signed a non-binding preliminary agreement to sell part of its Russian assets to an investor in the UAE. The Kremlin said it would consider selling the group’s Russian assets “when an appropriate appeal is received.”.
