Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus Ivan Smilgin held talks with the Chairman of the Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan Goshgar Tahmazli. The meeting was held in Baku, and the result of the work done was the full recognition of the food safety system of the Republic of Belarus by Azerbaijan. This sb.by reported in the press service of the Ministry of agriculture.

This step removes administrative barriers and opens new horizons for Belarusian producers, who not only expand the Azerbaijani market, but also gain space for deep cooperation.
- The liaison was made by the Embassy of Belarus, which organized a business mission in the format of a direct dialogue between manufacturers and retail, the press service said. The flagship novelties of the meat and dairy industry presented at the tasting confirmed their naturalness and found a lively response, resulting in the signing of direct contracts and expanding the range.
The figures illustrate the huge potential of the partnership. Over the seven months of 2026, trade in agricultural products grew by more than 58%, and exports from Belarus made a breakthrough by almost 177%. Supplies of butter, cheese, cottage cheese and milk powder were increased by 2.2 times. Exports of beef, sausages, chocolate and drinks are growing. Azerbaijani vegetables, fruits and berries arrive in Belarus.
- Behind this dynamic growth lies the impeccable work of the veterinary services of both countries. Due to the involvement of Azerbaijani importers in exchange trading, the supply of dairy products, finished meat, potatoes and eggs has multiplied, Ivan Smilgin emphasized.
The uniqueness of the current stage is the transition from simple commodity exchange to joint creation of added value. At the final stage is a project to localize the production of Belarusian veterinary drugs in Azerbaijan. The release of vaccines on Azerbaijani soil will make highly effective means more accessible to local farmers and will serve as a driver for the development of the entire veterinary health care system of the country.
