Bashkiria will invest in a foreign project for the first time

The initiative to create a technopark was fixed in the roadmap for the development of trade and economic relations between the regions. This decision was made following a meeting of the Russian-Uzbek intergovernmental commission in December last year. During this time, the parties worked out technical, financial and legal issues, formed the legal framework and determined the parameters of interaction. The management organization was appointed Bashkir Investment Management Company.

According to the director of the company Yulai Ilyasov, the facilities of the technopark will be located on a plot of one hundred hectares, provided with engineering and transport infrastructure. In addition to production units, warehouses and loading areas, there will be a bank, offices, a food court and a restaurant for staff.

Several Bashkir companies have already announced their intention to become residents of Bekabad: tax and customs preferences are provided for them.

Ortostan.ru plans to build a plant for the production of metal structures for industrial and construction facilities with a capacity of 25 thousand tons of products per year. NCE Burintech together with Uzbekneftegaz is working on a project for the production of drilling equipment and the provision of services for engineering and technological support of drilling and repair of oil and gas wells. The working group is already preparing a business plan for the joint venture.

“Thanks to the efforts of Vladimir Putin and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, we have opportunities for very close and effective cooperation,” said Radiy Khabirov, head of Bashkortostan. We see prospects in the development of Bekabad. We understand everything here and it is very pleasant to work. And most importantly, we feel like family here: we have similar languages and customs.

Mr. Khabirov also noted that it is already clear who will be residents of the technopark: they are satisfied with tax and customs regimes, support measures for connecting to engineering networks and providing labor. For residents of Bekabad district, the project means new jobs and tax revenues to the local budget.

Zoyir Mirzayev, in turn, stressed that the technopark will strengthen the industrial potential of the region.

"Bekabad has always been considered a metallurgical region, so it will be easy to find experienced specialists here, especially in the field of metal processing," the khokim of Tashkent region said. From here to the border with Tajikistan - about five kilometers, so the technopark will have a good export potential.

Mr. Mirzayev also assured that the Uzbek side will create comfortable conditions for the implementation of projects with the prospect of companies entering international markets.

Bashkortostan and Uzbekistan cooperate in many areas: in industry and agriculture, tourism, culture and sports.

Taking into account the structure of the economies of the two regions, investments in the manufacturing industry are further interesting, and the Tashkent region is a large industrial center with competencies and products that are in demand among Bashkir partners.

- This is truly a fraternal people with whom we have a lot in common, Radiy Faritovich admitted. I am sure that our friendship is a reliable foundation for future joint achievements.

Summing up the trip, the head of Belarus noted that the construction of the technopark is the first experience when Bashkiria invests in such a large project abroad.

Of course, there were questions: how to maintain and increase investments? It is very important that the status of the park is fixed by a special decree of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, said Mr. Khabirov. The main thing is that our guys get the opportunity to immediately enter the market of Uzbekistan. This is a country where industry and construction are developing rapidly. There will be serious benefits for them. From an economic point of view, it is very profitable.
