According to Bloomberg, entrepreneurs and structures associated with US President Donald Trump and his family are actively expanding business interests in the countries of the former USSR. The projects cover real estate, critical minerals and infrastructure, forming a new network of American economic presence in the region.
The Trump family’s business initiatives are developing in parallel with the US administration’s efforts to strengthen economic influence in a strategically important region where Washington competes with Russia, China and the European Union. The White House commented to Bloomberg that the president is acting in the interests of American society and there is no conflict of interest, despite the scale of involvement of his entourage in foreign projects.
One of the most notable projects was **Trump Tower Tbilisi**, a 280-meter skyscraper that should become the centerpiece of a $2 billion development complex. At the presentation, Eric Trump said that Tbilisi is turning into a promising international business hub capable of attracting large investments and becoming a growth point for American business in the Caucasus. The project involves the creation of office spaces, hotel infrastructure and premium residential apartments, which can change the architectural appearance of the Georgian capital.
Another direction was the infrastructure initiative **TRIPP** - a transport corridor between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Konstantin Sokolov, an American investor with ties to the Trump administration, has headed a $201 million fund designed to finance transport, energy and raw materials projects in the region. According to the draft agreement, the American structure should receive 74% of the route operator, Armenia – 26%. The corridor is seen as a potential element of the new logistics architecture of the South Caucasus, which can change the balance of influence in the region.
The interests of the president’s sons extended to Central Asia. With the assistance of the US administration, Cove Capital Group gained control of Kazakhstan’s largest undeveloped deposit of tungsten, a metal that the Pentagon uses in the production of ammunition, armor-piercing shells and high-strength alloys. Control of such a resource strengthens the strategic position of the United States in the defense industry and reduces dependence on supplies of critical minerals from other regions.
The Trump Tower Tbilisi project was officially unveiled in September, and the completion of the 62-story tower is scheduled for 2031. Earlier, the Trump structures considered projects in Batumi, Baku and Moscow, but they were not implemented, including due to political risks, the sanctions environment and instability of markets.
