BZD transported more than 500 thousand tons of sugar beet since the end of August

Since the end of August 2026, the Belarusian railway has transported more than 500 thousand tons of sugar beet to the processing enterprises of the country. This was reported in BJD, writes sb.by.

Currently, Belarusian agricultural enterprises are actively harvesting sugar beets. The Belarusian railway traditionally contributes to the delivery of the sweet harvest to the enterprises of the sugar industry of the country.

Root crops are loaded at 23 stations of the Belarusian Railway. Since the end of August 2026, more than 500,000 tons of sugar beet have been transported to the processing enterprises of the republic.

This year, the transportation was organized at OJSC Gorodei Sugar Plant, OJSC Zhabinkovsk Sugar Plant and OJSC Slutsk Sugar and Finish Plant.

In total, it is planned to transport more than 2 million tons of sugar beets of the current crop by rail.

BZD stressed that they are taking all necessary measures to deliver beets to the sugar factories of the country in full.
