The Great Stone Industrial Park hosted the forum “Belarus – China: Bridge for Innovation – 2026”. The event is designed to expand scientific, technical, innovation and production cooperation between Minsk organizations and its sister cities in China: Beijing, Shanghai, Changchun. During two days, the forum participants will discuss long-term prospects and directions of scientific and technical cooperation between the two countries. Presentations of technologies, high-tech products and services of Minsk organizations to the Chinese market will also be held, the correspondent of sb.by reports.

As Petr Filipovich, Deputy Head of Administration of the China-Belarus Great Stone Industrial Park, noted during the opening of the forum, new technologies today act as a bridge that connects countries, economies and people, creating new growth points and prospects for moving forward.

Belarus and China are strategic partners that consistently form a space for joint development. This applies to all areas, including innovation. Our country has a strong scientific and engineering school, a developed education system, a significant human resources potential. China, for its part, has demonstrated impressive results in the field of technological development, with a large-scale production base and developed innovative infrastructure. Now it is important for us to strengthen cooperation between our countries in practical terms, jointly develop new products, create joint research centers, and train relevant personnel.

Yang Junke, Advisor on Science and Technology of the Chinese Embassy in Belarus, drew attention to the fact that in recent years, a number of joint research projects have been successfully implemented within the framework of the Belarusian-Chinese cooperation, which cover new materials, information technologies, biomedicine, agriculture, intellectual production.

As a landmark project of cooperation between the two countries, the Great Stone Industrial Park is gradually becoming an important platform for the transformation and commercialization of scientific and technical achievements. This forum will certainly contribute to close cooperation between universities, research institutes, enterprises and industrial parks of the two countries, creating an open, inclusive and practical platform for exchange.

A new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation continues, and the cross-border movement of innovative factors is accelerating, which opens up new opportunities for further deepening the Chinese-Belarusian scientific and technological innovation cooperation.

In turn, the General Director of the Scientific and Technological Park of BNTU Polytechnic Georgy Vershina noted that the basis of any educational process is not only the transfer of knowledge, but also the formation of competencies, skills of innovative ingenuity among students.

- Today, I am pleased to note that the practical implementation of this approach is reflected in many Belarusian universities, whose students take an active part in this forum. Belarus, having joined the large-scale One Belt, One Road project, systematically and consistently implements a policy aimed at developing cooperation with Chinese partners in the field of education, science and high technologies. This undoubtedly contributes not only to the growth of the economic potential of the two states, but also to the strengthening of friendship and mutual trust between the two peoples.

The events of the forum take place over two days: on October 8 - in the "Great Stone", and on October 9 - in the scientific and technological park of BNTU "Polytechnic". During the first day of the forum, a scientific and practical seminar on supporting innovative entrepreneurship was held together with the Administrative Committee of the Pilot Zone of Regional Trade and Economic Cooperation “China – SCO”.

In addition, the scientific and practical conference “Belarus – China: Contours of Innovative and Technological Cooperation – 2026” will be held within two days. It will discuss mechanisms and tools of economic and cultural integration of Belarus and China, advanced technologies in the field of medicine, physiology, surface engineering, new materials, instrumentation, mechanical engineering, information technologies, construction and architecture, biotechnology and ecology. On the second day of the forum, a scientific and practical seminar on youth entrepreneurship will be held with the competition of innovative start-up projects “Innovative Initiative 2026”.
