Annual inflation in the Nizhny Novgorod region in September 2026 decreased to 5.6%

Annual inflation in the Nizhny Novgorod region in September 2026 decreased to 5.6%. This indicator was lower than the all-Russian — in the whole country inflation was 6.4%, according to the Bank of Russia. In the Volga Federal District, the price increase was even higher - 6.6%. In addition to the Nizhny Novgorod region, inflation remained below the average Russian level only in Bashkortostan and Mordovia.
Price growth in the region slowed over the month. In early autumn, seasonal vegetables and fruits fell in price - potatoes, beets, cabbage, carrots, onions and apples. This is due to an increase in the supply of local products and crops from the southern regions of Russia.
At the same time, motor fuel continued to rise in September. Prices for educational services also increased due to the traditional increase in tuition fees at the beginning of the school year. In addition, foreign tours, in particular to Egypt and some countries of Southeast Asia, rose in price against the backdrop of seasonal growth in demand.
The Bank of Russia noted that in recent months inflation was significantly affected by the situation on the fuel market.
