The index reflects the ratio of average salary and cost per square meter. The market is heterogeneous: in Minsk at the end of 2025, the index was 65%, which is lower than the nationwide index. In the Minsk region, it fell to 58% - the lowest rate in the country.
In addition, over 25 years, the provision of square meters per person has increased from 22 to 31, and in rural areas the figure has already reached 42.
- In Minsk, the demand for housing is huge, the supply of new apartments is decreasing every year. As a result, prices are rising faster than the country as a whole. In Grodno or Gomel regions, the index is about 100% - in these regions housing is 1.5 times more affordable than in the capital, Egorov said on the air of the First Information TV channel.
He also noted that it takes approximately the same number of years to save for housing in Minsk, Warsaw and Vilnius.
