The Cabinet of Ministers of Russia has signed a decree according to which mining facilities will be able to connect to power grids exclusively according to the IV reliability category. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy.

The department explained that such technical connection will operate in any territories. This will help prevent a shortage of capacity for other consumers.

Mining is allowed where it is prohibited, if the ban contains the right to work under the IV category of reliability.

Large consumers will also be able to connect under category IV, regardless of “suspenseful conditions”. The resolution is designed to eliminate the unpredictable growth of demand for electric infrastructure.
