The Ministries of Economy of Belarus and Russia record a significant change in the quality of trade between the countries

The Ministers of Economy of Belarus and Russia Yuri Chebotar and Maxim Reshetnikov, following the results of a joint board held in Moscow on September 18, noted a number of positive effects from the implementation of the Main directions for the implementation of the provisions of the Treaty on the Establishment of the Union State for 2024-2026.

In the course of integration, the economies of Belarus and Russia are moving deeply and systematically in many areas, said Maxim Reshetnikov, head of the Ministry of Economic Development. As a key indicator, he called the growth of trade turnover, which is reaching a new level.

- As Yuri Adamovich (Chebotar, Minister of Economy of Belarus) noted today during our board. It is important that the quality of mutual trade has changed significantly. If before, most of our trade turnover was energy and agricultural products, now, of course, it is more and more machine-building products, this is the result of our industrial cooperation. And, most importantly, the result is directly related to the implementation of projects, state support measures, agreements between the leaders of our countries, the work of ministries and departments, and the implementation of a new stage of investment projects, which was launched not so long ago. With agreements, including on deep mutual integration in the field of fuel and energy market, energy capacities, mutual transportation, the Minister of Economic Development of Russia specified.

It is equally important that industrial cooperation in the Union State is accompanied by an increase in humanitarian contacts and mutual trips.

- Our tourism has grown significantly: last year, 900 thousand mutual tourist trips only – this means that those tourists who stayed in hotels are taken into account. And given the intense friendships, family ties, we understand that these flows are much larger. We have a very large, intensive air traffic: 168 flights a week is really a lot. Many of our cities and cities in Belarus are connected. This is also the result of joint work, Maxim Reshetnikov said.

He recalled that in each area of cooperation, roadmaps for interaction were built: agriculture, industry, fuel and energy sector, humanitarian sphere, transport, payments, finance. The Minister of Economic Development of Russia thanked the staff of the Belarusian Ministry of Economy for their professional and instructive approach to integration processes.
