The Belarusian and Uzbek peoples have a common historical past, the diplomat noted. It is necessary to pass on the best experience of Belarusian-Uzbek cooperation to the younger generation. The Ambassador of Uzbekistan recalled that the task was set to actively develop trade and economic relations and bring mutual trade to $ 2 billion.
By the end of this year, mutual trade is expected to reach $1 billion. We should trade more with each other, the head of the diplomatic mission said. Many Uzbek businessmen coming to Belarus want to implement economic projects here.
He drew attention to the development of relations with Belarus in the educational sphere: more than 3,500 Uzbek students study in Belarusian universities.
The meeting discussed the development of Belarusian-Uzbek relations through public diplomacy, and the possibility of implementing projects in the fields of literature and music.
Kabuljon Sabirov emphasized the importance of developing contacts between the countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in all areas, including through public diplomacy.
