At the Minsk Tractor Plant, a new cast iron production technology was introduced into the production process of steel production. This was reported by sb.by in the press service of MTZ.

The press service reported:
- In the steel shop of the Minsk Tractor Plant, a new production has been opened - the technology of manufacturing cast iron from its own cast iron shavings has been introduced. Previously, shavings after machining were briquetted and shipped outside the enterprise. Now a closed cycle is organized: the shavings are melted into cast-iron ingots and used in the charge to obtain new castings.
The company noted that this solution reduces dependence on purchased cast iron and provides a significant annual economic effect due to the difference between the purchase price and the cost of own production. It is expected that the cost of the received cast iron will be 10-20 percent lower than when purchasing from third-party suppliers.
Minsk Tractor Plant is one of the leaders of the world agricultural machinery. The company was founded on May 29, 1946. It produces tractors, utility equipment, equipment for winter sports, universal chassis, forest machines, etc. More than 14,000 people work here. Minsk Tractor Plant is the management company of MTZ-Holding, registered on August 1, 2014. In addition to the head enterprise, the holding structure includes 14 open joint-stock companies.
