The rating is presented by a team of analysts from RIA Novosti. It is based on the results of 2025. A number of indicators were taken into account in compiling the list. Among them, the ratio of median incomes of the population to the cost of a fixed set of consumer goods and services, the average monthly amount of bank deposits per resident, the share of the population with incomes below the poverty line, the possibility of purchasing an apartment in a mortgage, etc.
The Chelyabinsk region according to the results of last year, the rating score is 62.33. This result is more than one and a half points higher than the figure of 2024, which allowed Chelyabinsk to take 44th place in the country.
The first place in Russia in terms of material well-being was taken by another region of the Ural Federal District - the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug with a rating score of 94.89. Other Ural regions according to the All-Russian rating were distributed as follows: Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – 2nd place (93.58); Sverdlovsk region – 14th place (78.85); Tyumen region - 30th place (66.70); Kurgan region - 67th place (46.66).
