Despite the distance: in which areas Belarus and the Magadan region will develop cooperation

On October 7, a meeting of the working group on cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Magadan region was held in Magadan. Following the meeting, the co-chairman of the group from the Belarusian side, Minister for Taxes and Duties Dmitry Kiyko told reporters what will be emphasized in cooperation in the coming years.

- First of all, Belarusian brands are big equipment, it is in demand here, and the logical stage of such cooperation was the opening of a multi-brand center of Belarusian equipment in Magadan. It can become a link not only between the manufacturer and the consumer of these products, but also in terms of the presentation of all our capabilities, said the Minister of Taxes and Duties of Belarus.

- We were not limited to technology in the negotiation process. There is a good prospect of cooperation in the field of construction, we are talking about the so-called construction of a full cycle. The Magadan region has a regional development program, it affects infrastructure and other facilities. Belarus has relevant competencies, such as design. Today, the Governor of the Magadan region spoke very flatteringly about the competencies of Belarusian builders, so during the visit we agreed to further develop this area. There are competencies, there are resources, there is only a desire to implement all this, said Dmitry Kiyko.

Another Belarusian brand, of course, claiming a presence in the market of the Magadan region, the Minister for Taxes and Duties called food.

- There are features: a long distance, specific logistics, but nevertheless, our manufacturers are ready to adapt to such conditions. There are companies with developed logistics centers, which even without the actual presence here can ensure the availability of Belarusian products in the Magadan region by completing the corresponding groupage cargoes, he continued.

The partners see good prospects for the presence of Belarusian light industry goods in the Far East, opportunities for cooperation in fish processing. We have made quite far progress in water disposal and water management projects, Dmitry Kiyko listed.

- And today we are with Sergey Konstantinovich (Nosov, Governor of the Magadan region). We discussed directly that much attention should be paid to socio-cultural cooperation.
