Today, on September 21, a new resident, limited liability company Xant-Invest, is officially registered in the administration of the FEZ Gomel-Raton. The company is modernizing the existing chemical production for the production of highly purified granular aluminum sulfate. The project with a total capacity of 12.5 thousand tons per year is aimed at full import substitution in Belarus and export to the Russian Federation.

Gomel-Raton Free Economic Zone continues to expand its membership, making a long-term bet on enterprises with a clear innovation strategy. According to Vladimir Privalov, the head of the FEZ administration, recently priority has been given to those business initiatives whose products are able to compete effectively in the domestic and foreign markets. The project of Xant-Invest LLC fully meets these criteria and is aimed at creating a high-tech chemical complex. The announced investments will allow not only to upgrade production facilities, but also to diversify the product portfolio towards a high-margin premium segment.
The main product of the updated enterprise will be highly purified granular aluminum sulfate of premium quality. This chemical is a critically important and most effective coagulant that is widely used in strategic sectors of the economy. First of all, it needs the system of housing and communal services and urban water utilities, where aluminum sulphate is used for chemical water treatment of drinking water and sewage treatment. In addition, the reagent is indispensable in the technological processes of large industrial consumers, including enterprises of the pulp and paper, textile and food industries.

The large-scale goals of the investor are supported by specific production plans. According to Alexey Kurylenko, director of Xant-Invest LLC, the strategic task of the project is to reach the total annual capacity of up to 12.5 thousand tons of products. Of this volume, 9 thousand tons will account for the premium highest grade, and 3.5 thousand tons will be other varieties of demanded chemical substances. This volume of production will allow the new resident to completely displace imported analogues of coagulants from the Belarusian market and guarantee absolute raw material independence for domestic enterprises.
The geography of sales of future products is also partially balanced between domestic needs and export opportunities. It is planned that 39% of the produced aluminum sulphate will be supplied to the domestic market of the Republic of Belarus, closing key requests of the housing and communal services sector and textile factories. The remaining 61% of products will be exported to the Russian Federation. The development of this vector will strengthen trade and economic ties within the Union State and provide high-quality chemical raw materials to industrial giants throughout the EAEU.
