The transfer of animals from pastures to stalling is one of the most important and difficult periods for all animal husbandry. On how well it is organized, depend milk yield, herd health and food security in general. At the end of May, almost 210,000 heads of dairy herds were grazed across the country, or 16 percent of the total. Most of all - in Vitebsk region (75,000 heads), then went Mogilev (44), Minsk (34), Grodno (29), Gomel (26) and Brest (a little more than 1 thousand). Now the reverse process has been completed: by October 1, all these animals had to return to the premises, which, in turn, needed to be repaired and disinfected. How the regions coped with this task - in the review "SG".
The Mogilev region completed this work in a timely manner. This was told in more detail by the First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture and Food of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee Olga Nikolaychenkova.
- In the summer-autumn period, the necessary work was carried out to prepare livestock premises for winter-table maintenance. District specialists, regional services were leaving. Pay attention to the repair of doors, roofs, ceilings, floors. All livestock facilities are ready on time. All livestock has been transferred to winter-table maintenance. Organized feeding, placement of livestock, — commented the interlocutor.
Special attention was paid to how the transition will affect the productivity of the herd. Practice shows that with a competent organization, even a change in feed and conditions of detention do not lead to losses.
- During the production period, there was no decrease in milk volume, it was at the level of 108 percent compared to last year. Currently, the same rate of milk production in the region. This indicates that the transition to stall maintenance was competently organized, the representative of the regional executive committee emphasized.
In the Gomel region, preparation for the wintering of animals continues. According to the Chairman of the Committee on agriculture and food Gomel regional Executive Committee Anatoly Gaponik, on October 5 in the region prepared 78 percent of objects that will be used for wintering animals. These figures he announced at a hardware meeting in the regional executive committee.
– Livestock facilities in the Mozyr, Narovlyansk and Chechersk regions are fully ready for the winter period. A high degree of readiness in nine districts, Anatoly Gaponik said. It is necessary to increase the pace of work in this direction in Svetlogorsk and Rogachevsky districts.
The Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Ivan Krupko set the task responsible:
- It is important to use all resources and manpower on the ground, but deliver the facilities on time. This should be understood in every community.
The pasture season in Kohanovo-AGRO OJSC of Tolochinsky district ended successfully, but, as the director of the farm Alexander Matskevich admits, it was not easy. According to him, the transition from green grass to sanage, from free grazing to tether is stress for animals.
- They adapt to the weather for six months, stay day and night in the field, and then come to the room. So we've done our best to make sure that animals adapt to this faster. The cattle stand today, everyone came safely from the field, Alexander Matskevich said.
20 tons of milk are milked per day, of which 18 are for sale. To the level of last year is added daily. The transition to table maintenance did not pass without a trace: there was a drawdown in milk, but it was minimized. Helped feed, meal, selection of feed. We managed to stabilize the indicators literally in a week. But, according to the director, doing so was not easy.
- It's warm outside today, it's stuffy in the barn. It's already affecting the milk. The cow does not eat as much food as in the fresh air. And the weather doesn't adjust to us. This is a factor that does not depend on us, the head noted.
The winter-table period for the farm, where the tied maintenance of animals is still preserved, is the daily hard work of the entire team. Among the tasks for the coming period, the interlocutor singles out the targeted distribution of concentrates according to the old principle, which, according to him, gives an increase in milk yield.
Alexander Matskevich assures that the farm has never had any problems with feed. They were always harvested in sufficient quantity, and more than once they helped other farms. After all, this is the basis of success in the industry, high yields and gain. By the way, this year the farm will remove 900 hectares of corn for silage and 400 hectares of the same crop for grain.
