On September 22, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko held a meeting on the prospects of housing construction and improving the efficiency of using rental housing. Some of the main results of the event in the program “Budni” on the YouTube channel “SBTV” and “Alfa Radio” commented media expert Dmitry Shvayba, reports sb.by.
First of all, the guest of the talk show noted that construction is an economic multiplier that launches and promotes many processes:
- The development of construction in Belarus is a clear indicator of healthy processes in the economy. At the same time, the system of distribution of square meters, the social function of the state, which manifests itself through justice, speed and mechanisms that allow access to housing, including for groups experiencing difficulties, is very important. In this sense, of course, Belarus can be considered a model in the post-Soviet space, and even on a global scale.

- This is an example of a fair distribution of square meters and the creation of mechanisms that are understandable to the population and do not allow our opponents to say that someone got the housing wrong or unfairly. The distribution of housing is always associated with a conflict of interest. Therefore, all procedures should be clearly organized. The head of state at the meeting on the eve focused on the fact that local authorities should ensure the settlement of new rental housing in a short time. People need to be clear that they have the opportunity to improve their living conditions in this way and should be prepared to move in this direction.

Any metropolis creates a situation of need for several reasons. First, families divide, redistribute, increase. Secondly, people certainly want to live better, the number of square meters that a person needs for a comfortable life is growing. Third, migration. It is clear that citizens of other countries are also interested in life in Belarus. Peaceful sky, fast Internet, developed infrastructure, beautiful cities, cleanliness, mental perception of Belarusians. Living with Belarusians is comfortable. It's an understandable story. At the same time, we must provide our citizens with the opportunity to improve their living conditions. The cornerstone theme in this regard, of course, is the price per square meter. The priority is announced: the average monthly salary and the cost of the square should move in a single format. This is one of the indicators of the social orientation of our state.

- People have been migrating for a long time, not the other way around. The scientific distribution of fixed assets has not gone away, although at some point they were skeptical. It is necessary to have a clear and efficient distribution of labor resources. And in this sense, rental housing is an understandable mechanism of accelerated redistribution of housing in relation to the main production assets. And most importantly, the state is able to manage it. No randomness!

The city of Smolevichi in this sense is a very vivid example. It all started slowly, slowly, and someone even made fun of it. Today there is a huge housing complex. And Fanipol is on the same path. The authorities, without overloading Minsk, make life more comfortable in a short distance from the capital and thereby form a more extensive agglomeration of settlements. This makes it possible to effectively redistribute the main production assets through the placement of free economic zones, due to the priority of creating a taxable base in these territories. Businesses that develop satellite cities have benefits. And citizens are comfortable living there. After all, in addition to the construction of modern housing, related infrastructure and trade are being developed in cities. Pools, gyms, kindergartens, schools, clinics, shops are also actively building. And this trend is relevant, including for Grodno, Brest and other cities. Sometimes we can even say that in matters of building important facilities and providing them with high-tech equipment, we move faster than in providing personnel.
The talk show “Budney” is released on weekdays in the morning on “Alpha Radio”. Each issue discusses the most relevant topics from the life of the country and the world. Political scientists, scientists, public figures and journalists of leading media participate in the discussions.
