Economic partnership agreement between EAEU and UAE enters into force
On October 6, the Economic Partnership Agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and the United Arab Emirates came into force.

Today, on October 6, the Agreement on Economic Partnership between the Eurasian Economic Union and the United Arab Emirates, signed in June 2025, entered into force, the EEC press service reported.

The document provides for significant liberalization of the trade regime: the UAE provided preferential access for 86% of the commodity nomenclature, which corresponds to 98% of the EAEU exports.
Minister for Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission Andrei Slepnev noted the economic effect of the agreement:
- The average rate applied by a partner to union goods is reduced from 5 percent to 0.6 percent. According to our estimates, the amount of concessions received will allow exporters of the EAEU countries to save up to $ 266 million annually on customs duties. The expected growth in trade will be at least $5-6 billion in the medium term.
The agreement establishes modern provisions and mechanisms aimed at promoting the interaction of business circles, including small and medium-sized enterprises. Cooperation in the field of transport and logistics is envisaged with the possibility of connecting the UAE to the international North-South corridor.
The EEC Minister urged the business of the EAEU countries to actively use new opportunities and develop cooperation with the UAE.
