Tatarstan demonstrates impressive dynamics in the development of foreign economic relations with India. According to the results of seven months of 2026, the trade turnover between the parties reached one billion dollars. Such data were cited by the head of the Investment Development Agency of the Republic Talia Minullina at a press conference in the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan dedicated to the upcoming Russian-Indian business forum TIME, which will be held in Kazan.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan German Lerner, answering journalists’ questions, stressed that the growth compared to the same period last year amounted to more than nine times the value.
The reason for such rapid growth was the reorientation of Tatarstan companies from Western markets to Eastern ones. Logistics chains are already well established, and payment problems in a number of countries are being addressed in a working manner. At the same time, the economy of the republic maintains a positive balance: exports significantly exceed imports, which strengthens the position of Tatarstan as one of the key exporters among the regions of Russia.
