Tula region will allocate private carriers another 115 million rubles

The Ministry of Transport and Road Services of the Tula region announced the allocation of another subsidy totaling 115.1 million rubles for organizations operating on routes with unregulated tariffs.

The funds are used to compensate for lost income that arises from carriers in connection with the mandatory provision of benefits to certain categories of citizens.

Such subsidies will cover the costs of private transport companies for transportation of: (a) students (school children and students) with a 50% discount during the academic year; (b) veterans of the Great Patriotic War and hostilities; (c) disabled people; (d) pensioners; (d) other socially vulnerable categories of citizens entitled to preferential travel on social cards.

Since the carriers themselves set the fare on routes with unregulated tariffs, the provision of benefits at the request of regional legislation creates a financial burden for them. Budget subsidies fully compensate for this difference, which allows transport companies to maintain profitability without increasing the cost of tickets for ordinary passengers. Acceptance of applications from transport organizations for compensation will last until October 15, 2026.

Recall, as previously wrote “MK in Tula”, in August of this year, Tula carriers were allocated in the form of subsidies 133 million rubles.
