In the Astrakhan region, the level of self-sufficiency in potatoes exceeded 200%
The region became one of the leading regions

By the end of 2025, Russia reached full self-sufficiency in potatoes. At the same time, the Astrakhan region became one of two regions of the country where this figure exceeded 200%, follows from the data of Rosstat, which was studied by RIA Novosti.
The level of self-sufficiency in potatoes in 2025 exceeded 100% in 32 regions of the country. However, only in the Bryansk and Astrakhan regions it was above 200% – that is, the regions not only completely cover their own needs, but also significantly exceed them.
In the country as a whole, self-sufficiency in potatoes in 2024 was at the level of 92%, and by the end of 2025 reached 100.3%. Thus, the increase was 8.3 percentage points. The last time the indicator exceeded 100% in 2023 (101%), before that – in 2015 (102.1%). The maximum value for the last 25 years was recorded in 2011 - 110.6%.
The greatest increase in self-sufficiency in potatoes, in addition to the Astrakhan region, was noted in Ingushetia, Sakhalin, Orel, Tambov and Bryansk regions.
