In August, fuel and electronics rose in price in Bashkiria, but milk and fruit became cheaper
In August, annual inflation in Bashkortostan remained virtually unchanged and amounted to 5.1 percent

In August, annual inflation in Bashkortostan remained virtually unchanged at 5.1 percent. This is one of the lowest rates in the country. Meanwhile, the average inflation in Russia was 6.3 percent. The National Bank of Belarus noted that over the past month prices in the region decreased by 0.3 percent, and at the end of summer only non-food products rose in price.
Also, according to the regional financial regulator, prices for food and services in the country decreased significantly in August. According to Rosstat, compared to July, prices fell by 0.29 percent. In annual comparison, food and non-food products rose in price weaker than the consumer basket as a whole, and services – stronger.
Vegetables and fruits fell the most, as their supply in the regional market expanded due to the receipt of a new harvest from domestic farmers. The seasonal increase in milk yields led to a decrease in the cost of dairy products.
- In August, for the first time this year, services fell in price and this is due to a seasonal decrease in demand for recreation within Bashkortostan and the country: in the last month of summer, vouchers and bookings for autumn fall into the calculation of statistics, the press service of the regional National Bank explained. In this regard, the cost of domestic tours, as well as tickets for long-distance trains, decreased.
Price growth in August slowed, including due to restrained consumer demand for passenger cars and some services.
At the same time, foreign tours have risen. This is due to the beginning of the high season and the weakening of the ruble, which also led to an increase in prices for imported electronics. Fuel prices also rose in August, but less than in July.
