The number of entrepreneurs applying for state financial support is increasing in Belarus. For nine months, the Belarusian Fund for Financial Support of Entrepreneurs allocated more than 40 million rubles for this purpose - 2 million more than for the entire previous year. About this in the heading “Closer to the case” said the General Director of the Fund Peter Arushanyants.
In the list of preferential projects - 44 initiatives
Today, 44 investment projects included in the list of preferential ones are being implemented in Belarus. Their total cost exceeds 2.5 billion rubles.
We are talking about projects that are implemented by investors in the regions, except for Minsk, without concluding a special investment agreement with the provision of benefits and preferences. This mechanism allows us to support promising business ideas and stimulate the development of regions.
The projects cover the processing industry, agriculture, forestry and fisheries, wholesale and retail trade, as well as entertainment and recreation. Most of these initiatives are implemented in Brest, Vitebsk and Mogilev regions.
Regions form the majority of projects
According to Pyotr Arushyanets, the demand for financial support from small and medium-sized businesses has increased significantly compared to previous periods.
“This year, we see that the demand for financial support from small and medium-sized businesses is much greater than in previous periods,” the fund’s CEO said.
For nine months, the Fund provided financial support for more than 40 million rubles. This is already higher than last year’s figure.
“We exceeded last year’s plan in nine months, and there are still quite a few projects waiting to be funded,” said Petr Arushanyants.
About 60% of projects are in the regions, excluding Minsk and Minsk district. At the same time, investment initiatives are actively implemented in the capital.
Hundreds of projects have passed through the regional platform
One of the tools to support entrepreneurs was the Regional Initiative platform. It allows you to present the project, get advice and consider possible financing options.
“More than 600 projects passed through the site in 2026,” said Petr Arushanyants.
According to him, not all projects require large investments or have a complex structure. These can be small initiatives that are important for a particular city, district or rural settlement.
“There are a lot of such projects, and all of them receive the opportunity of financial support,” the head of the fund said.
What kind of help can entrepreneurs get
The Belarusian Fund for Financial Support of Entrepreneurs continues the competitive selection of investment projects. Applications are accepted until mid-October.
Entrepreneurs can count on such types of state support as:
- 1.lending;
- 2.leasing of property;
- 3.financing of investment projects;
- 4.support for regional initiatives.
Support extends to projects in industry, agriculture, trade, services and other areas that are important for the development of territories.
You can apply without papers
The Fund continues to translate interaction with entrepreneurs into a digital format. This year, business entities were able to apply for support in a completely paperless way.
According to Pyotr Arushyanets, digitalization is planned to be strengthened next year.
“We plan to work even more actively with entrepreneurs and legal entities next year. More emphasis will be placed on digitalization, he said.
Work is underway to create a national platform for small and medium-sized businesses. It should simplify the submission of applications, make the procedure more understandable and speed up the consideration of projects.
Demand for digital tools remains high
The head of the fund noted that entrepreneurs are interested not only in financial support, but also in the ability to receive it in a convenient digital form.
“Demand from small and medium-sized businesses both for financial support and for its digital form is certainly high,” said Petr Arushanyants.
Simpler and clearer procedures contribute to the implementation of investment ideas and the activation of business initiatives in the regions.
What will change next year
In 2027, the fund intends to expand work with small and medium-sized businesses, increase the role of digital services and continue supporting projects aimed at the development of the regions.
Special attention will be paid to initiatives that create jobs, develop local production, expand services and help small communities attract investment.
Thus, state financial support becomes not only an instrument of assistance to individual enterprises, but also a mechanism for the development of the regional economy.
