In the multifunctional center of the Brest Regional Executive Committee today, October 9, a discussion was held on the construction of a new greenhouse for growing vegetables in the territory of JSC "Greenhouse Plant "Berestye" Brest district. The negotiations with representatives of Chinese companies were attended by First Deputy Chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee Dmitry Gorodetsky, the leadership of the Committee on Agriculture of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, the Brest District Executive Committee and other structures. It's from sb.by.
The project has already begun.
Dmitry Gorodetsky acquainted the representatives of the Chinese delegation with the work of the agro-industrial complex of Brest region, which in many positions occupies a leading position in the scale of our country:
- In recent years, warm, businesslike, constructive and productive interregional ties have developed between Brest Oblast and the four provinces of China. Since the beginning of 2026, our trade turnover has increased by more than 20 percent and exceeded $350 million. In China, products of Brest region enterprises are in good demand. There is also the reverse movement of goods. The next stage is the transition from mutual trade to interaction in the field of technology, in the field of creating joint ventures, organizing production of products and joint access to foreign markets.
- We are interested in Chinese technologies for the design, construction and, importantly, the organization of effective operation of greenhouse facilities on the basis of JSC “Greenhouse Plant Berestye”, – said the First Deputy Chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee.
In the new 1.6-hectare greenhouse, the processes of growing vegetables in protected soil will be controlled by artificial intelligence, monitoring such important parameters as temperature, humidity, plant condition and other data. Human intervention in all processes in the superheater will be minimized.
Thanks to the new greenhouse, Berestier Greenhouse Plant expects to reach a qualitatively new level of vegetable production in protected soil.
The project together with the Chinese investor Brest residents intend to implement in three stages. The first has already started, and it is filled with concrete deeds.
