In Domodedovo, artificial intelligence monitors the order on garbage sites

In the urban district of Domodedovo, a video surveillance system with AI elements has been introduced: almost a hundred smart cameras now monitor the state of waste collection sites around the clock. The task of the complex is not just to record what is happening, but to instantly react to typical violations: overcrowded containers, spontaneous dumps of garbage and cars abandoned right on the way of special equipment.
It works like this: the image from the cameras comes to a single interactive map, where the algorithms in real time recognize the problem and send the signal to the desired service. Unauthorized bulk was found - the regional operator sends harvesting equipment. Passage is blocked - the notification goes to the management company or municipality through a chatbot for the management of MSW. A person can only make a decision, not look for a violation throughout the district.
The load on the system is impressive: according to the Kashir Regional Operator, it processes about 500 messages daily. At the same time, the collected statistics work for the future - on its basis, experts adjust waste collection schedules and lay the routes of garbage trucks taking into account which sites are filled faster.
According to the authors of the initiative, this approach will reduce the response time to municipal problems and help maintain cleanliness on the container sites of the district without constant detours.
