Preparations for the upcoming Uzbek-Belarusian inter-parliamentary forum became the central topic of the meeting of Chairman of the Permanent Commission of the Council of the Republic on International Affairs and National Security Sergey Aleynik with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Belarus Nuriddin Mamajonov, the Council of the Republic reports.

The forum will be held on September 29-30 in Khiva.
The dialogue between Minsk and Tashkent is gaining new practical dynamics. The agenda is not just inter-parliamentary dialogue, but concrete economic results. A package of documents is being prepared to give impetus to joint projects.
The basis of this work is the Declaration on the establishment of strategic partnership, signed by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Today, allied guidelines are consistently filled with real content in all spheres – from industry and interregional cooperation to social and humanitarian ties.
Sergey Aleynik stressed the role of the parliamentary dimension in the implementation of the bilateral course:
- The interaction of parliamentarians plays a special role in the practical implementation of the agreements reached by the leaders of our states. The Belarusian side aims to consistently expand the multifaceted partnership and maximize the effectiveness of the upcoming forum.
