Over the past three years, investment in real terms in Belarus has grown by more than 50%. This was reported on the air of the TV channel “First Information” by the First Deputy Chairman of the Board of the National Bank Alexander Egorov, writes sb.by.

The Belarusian economy is guided by maintaining the rate of fixed capital accumulation at the level of 20-25% of GDP, which is the optimal corridor that allows updating fixed assets without excessive pressure on the consumer market.
According to Alexander Egorov, not only the total amount is important, but also the technological structure of capital investments. In this five-year plan, the country relies on the disclosure of the internal potential of the territories. The state supports the regional initiative, stimulates the creation of new facilities and tourism infrastructure, allocates resources for the agro-industrial sector.
First Deputy Chairman of the Board of the National Bank noted that the result of the investment policy is obvious: GDP growth has accelerated. The growth of investment loans of Belarusian banks over the past two years has exceeded 65%.
- Businesses have a renewed appetite for long-term development and growth. This is proof that the right macroeconomic conclusions can turn a crisis into a technological breakthrough. Our goal today is not short-term speculative growth, but laying the foundation for decades to come, he added.
Alexander Egorov stressed that at the macroeconomic level, investment is always the rejection of short-term consumption in order to create production capacities for the future. At the same time, the injection of money into the purchase of the same type of equipment quickly ceases to give an economic effect. The long-term growth driver is scientific and technological progress, changes in the technological structure, the introduction of automation and robotization, and a decrease in resource intensity.
Alexander Egorov added that the source of investment in any sovereign economy is domestic savings, the financial system here is a link:
