Large-scale waste management project launched in the region

A large-scale waste management project has been launched in the region. On October 28, in Moscow, the head of the Tambov region Evgeny Pervyshov discussed with the leadership of the Russian Environmental Operator the creation of the Central Ecotechnopark. The facility will significantly improve the situation with the export and processing of MSW.
The new complex will be located on a plot of almost 50 hectares. Its capacity will be 260 thousand tons of waste per year. In addition to the plant for processing and disposal of MSW, there will be a modern landfill for the burial of residues after sorting. It is planned not only to sort garbage, but also to compost organics, recycle plastic, and reuse some of the materials for the production of new products.
The contractor was the local company "PSK". Now on the site clear the territory of woody vegetation, remove the upper fertile layer of soil, compact the soil and equip temporary buildings and structures. Work on this stage will be completed by the end of 2026, the main construction period will start in 2027, and the entire complex is planned to be commissioned in the third quarter of 2028.
The construction is directly related to the national project “Environmental Well-being”. The new complex will help the region to ensure one hundred percent processing of MSW and halve the volume of their burial by 2030. 4.1 billion rubles were allocated for construction, including 3.8 billion borrowed funds from REO and Sberbank.
