For nine months of this year, more than 700 tons of dairy products were sent abroad from the Vologda region. Exports grew by 12% compared to the same period last year. This was told by the head of the region Georgy Filimonov.
Milk and cream were shipped more by 55.2%. Cheese exports increased 1.7 times. Growth in key foreign countries is also visible: deliveries to Armenia increased by 164.5%, to Kazakhstan - more than seven times. For the first time, milk whey was shipped to the Republic of Belarus.
The Governor reminded that last year in Vologda region was set a record for milk production. For the first time since 1991, farmers produced 696.9 thousand tons, the yield per feed cow was 9,467 kg. In terms of milk production per capita, the Vologda region ranks fifth in Russia and first in the NWFD.
