In Brest region harvested more than 3.8 million tons of corn silage and threshed 114 thousand tons of grain

Corn is not for nothing called the queen of the fields. This year, thanks to it, farmers of the Brest region expect to harvest enough grass feed and replenish fodder reserves for the livestock industry. Since the beginning of spring, the southwestern region has faced a shortage of moisture in the soil, which is felt more acute every month. Senage many farms are not enough, thanks to alfalfa and other drought-tolerant nutrient crops, Kosovitsa continues to this day. The account for feeding-eaters is also growing due to corn harvested on most of the areas. And if the workpiece of the silo comes to the finish, then the cobs are threshed in full swing.

One hundred percent return of technologies in OJSC “Poultry Factory “Friendship” of Baranovichi district, the harvest is excellent. The area, where a large agricultural enterprise is located, was less under the whims of unstable weather, and the technologies used in the cultivation of corn worked 100 percent.

With the chief agronomist of the farm Evgeny Rilko we go to one of the fields, where the powerful harvester GS2124 produced by OJSC Gomselmash is barely noticeable behind a solid high wall of plants. A wide reaper cuts them at a decent speed, a reddish mass hides in the huge womb of a multi-ton machine. And the bunker is full. The MAZ dump truck, waiting for the loading signal, rushes to the stopped harvester.

Driving the truck, experienced driver Oleg Vysotsky says that the autumn rhythm in the field is not much different from the summer one:

The only concern is the transportation of grain. The warm and sunny weather allows harvesters to fill bunkers quickly, and I can make more flights. Of course, this directly affects the salary. The opinion of the colleague is shared by senior harvester Dmitry Maisyuk, who works in tandem with assistant Yuri Tarabash.

“Our GS2124 is packed with electronics,” says Dmitry. - It makes the job a lot easier. For harvesting corn for grain there is a special wide-grabbing reaper for 12 rows. It increases productivity and saves time.

Acting Deputy General Director of OJSC Poultry Factory “Friendship” for agricultural production Mikhail Polozok notes that the yield of corn beveled on green mass exceeded 460 centners per hectare:

- More than 50 thousand tons of silo were prepared. The return is one of the best during the cultivation of this culture. Grain is also a solid result - 106 centners per circle.

Grain and legumes excluding corn at the enterprise collected 54 thousand tons. Given that the queen of fields will be threshed on an area of more than 3.3 thousand hectares, about 35 thousand tons will be added to this volume. Suprunovichi rule! JSC "Plemzavod "Mukhavets" Brest district corn wedge has much smaller, this year the culture fell under severe drought. Experts of the farm specified that the level of groundwater fell by almost half a meter, so the periodically passing downpours did not correct the situation. As soon as the cobs reached milk-wax ripeness by the end of August, cleaning began. We go to the plant, where it goes on the last hectares. The tone of the works is set by a large family dynasty of the Suprunovich brothers, as well as their nephews.

His older brother Vitaly manages the forage complex. Sredny Vyacheslav with nephews Roman and Alexander participate in the transportation of crushed green mass to the silo trench. The younger Alexei on the forklift "Amkodor" is engaged in tamping juicy food.

- Suprunovichi rule! – smiles Vyacheslav, looking out of the cockpit of the new “Belarus”. Our parents worked in the “Mukhavats” for many years, who put nine children on their feet. Four of them followed suit. Vitaly and Alexey and I became mechanizers. Sister Tatiana worked as a machine milking operator, now retired. Her son Roman also chose the profession of tractor driver and came to our team. Here he found his calling and Alexander – the son of sister Valentina. She is an employee of the nearby sanatorium "Sunny".

Director of JSC "Plemzavod "Mukhavets" Alexander Kukharchuk is convinced that such family dynasties hold not only the enterprise headed by him, but the entire village. These people care about technology, do not count on the time when it is necessary to remove the crop in the optimal time.

- The silos were laid 11 thousand tons, which is enough for us, sums up Alexander Kukharchuk. We plan to remove 50 hectares of corn for grain. We are waiting for the optimal maturation phase.

In Brest region, the pace of harvesting corn for silage and grain is the highest in the country. Of the 200 thousand hectares allocated for green mass, 87 percent were cut, 3 million 832 thousand tons of silo were harvested. Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture and Food of the Brest Regional Executive Committee Anatoly Shchuplenkov believes that taking into account the remaining areas of the feed will be enough:

- In the agricultural organizations of the region there is a transferable supply of silage from last year, which will not be in a hurry to spend a new harvest. The harvesting of corn for grain has gained good pace. From 16 thousand hectares (which is about a quarter of the plan), 114 thousand tons of grain were threshed. The yield of the fields is gradually increasing, the northern and eastern regions, which were less affected by drought, are actively involved in the work. The highest hammers in Baranovichi district are 100 centners per hectare. The calculation for corn for silage and grain in Brest region is made in such a way that for a full-fledged, balanced diet of animals there were enough grass feed and fodder.
