Revenue of Belarusian sanatoriums grew by 12% in 9 months and exceeded 1 billion

In summer, Belarusian health resorts worked with maximum workload, occupancy was more than 90%. More than 600,000 people were treated and rehabilitated. This was reported to journalists by the Director of the Republican center for rehabilitation and sanatorium-resort treatment of the population Gennady Bolbatovsky. He also said that the depth of sales of vouchers for November of this year is fixed at the level of 74 percent, vacations in December and for the New Year holidays are actively sold.

Gennady Bolbatovsky clarified:

Revenue for health and medical services for 9 months of 2026 increased by 12 percent compared to the same period last year and exceeded 1 billion 88 million rubles. Positive dynamics is observed in the export of services. We have rested 200 thousand foreign citizens, revenue from exports increased by 15 percent and amounted to 476 million rubles.

The average price of a complex of medical and recreational services per day per person in a standard double room was 155 rubles in the summer, during a period of increased demand. In the fourth quarter, a change in value due to discounts is forecasted. But a day in the sanatorium for the New Year and Christmas holidays will cost one person on average about 170 rubles.

Serious work is being done to develop and strengthen the material and technical base of sanatoriums. On the purchase of equipment, construction and reconstruction spent one and a half times more than last year — 194 million rubles. This was, among other things, a consequence of the implementation of the State Program for the Development of Tourism until 2030. About 70 percent of them belong to the sanatorium and resort complex, which faces the task of increasing the bed stock by 30 percent. By the way, just last week opened a new building of the sanatorium "Dawn" in the Minsk region.

According to the director of the Republican Center for Rehabilitation and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population, the most popular treatment profiles associated with the natural potential of the country are therapeutic mud and mineral waters. On the territory of our sanatoriums there are more than 90 wells with mineral water, the main part of the chemical composition is aimed at treating diseases of the digestive system. In second place are problems with the musculoskeletal system and neurological profile, since the use of sapropels of Belarus gives a very good medical effect.

Gennady Bolbatovsky also said that during the autumn holidays, the Republican Center for Health and Sanatorium Treatment of the Population, together with the Ministry of Education, plans to improve about 70,000 children. Since the beginning of the year, more than 10 sanatorium-resort and health organizations have been certified in Minsk
