For 6 months of 2026, Belarus and the Magadan region exceeded the entire trade turnover of last year

On October 7, Magadan hosts a meeting of the working group on cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Magadan region, which summed up the interim results of cooperation for 2025 and the first half of 2026. According to the Minister of Economic Development, Investment Policy and Innovations of the Russian region Irina Penievskaya, this year a significant increase in trade cooperation between partners has been recorded.

In 2026, the second meeting of the working group on cooperation between Belarus and the Magadan region is held. The results of the first half of the current period allow us to talk about a significant increase in mutual trade, said Irina Penievskaya.

- For 6 months of this year, foreign trade turnover was increased by 6% compared to the whole of 2025. That is, for the current six months, we exceeded the indicators of the 12 months of the past, the minister said. At the same time, it should be noted that the statistics do not fully reflect the real scale, since a significant part of Belarusian products arrives at Kolyma through intermediaries and other subjects of the Russian Federation.

According to her, many mining enterprises and production of the agro-industrial complex of the Magadan region use production equipment of the Republic of Belarus in their work. The quality development of retail trade is also noted.

- Since November 2025, a stationary store of Belarusian products has been successfully operating in Magadan, which offers a wide range of dairy, meat, groceries and canned products. To ensure the availability of Belarusian goods in remote areas of the region, regular outbound trade from mobile complexes has been organized since June 2026. It is also planned to expand the presence of the non-food sector of goods by the end of 2026, the minister said.

Among the interesting joint projects, Irina Pennyevskaya highlighted the supply of seal fat from the Magadan region to Belarus in the interests of the cosmetics manufacturer. Belarusian cosmetic products are in demand in the Russian market. A significant part of the cooperation is the supply of seafood from Magadan to Belarus. The partners are working on the prospect of deliveries of Belarusian treatment facilities.

- It strengthens integration ties and socio-humanitarian and inter-municipal cooperation. This summer, as part of the health campaign, 50 Kolyma children were sent from Magadan to the Belarusian Zubrenok Center. In the field of education, there was also international cooperation between educational institutions of Kolyma and Belarus, added Irina Penyevskaya.
