In Kamchatka, an 11-year-old boy was hospitalized after a tourist rafting, during which the group was blocked due to strong winds. The incident occurred on October 11 in the area of Lake Tidal. The circumstances of the incident are being clarified by investigators of the regional department of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
According to preliminary data, 11 tourists, including nine children aged 11 to 15 years, went on two rafts along the Prilivnaya River through the lake of the same name in the direction of Khalaktyr beach. However, the worsening weather forced participants to interrupt the route. Due to the increased wind, they were unable to move on or return to the place of departure.
The head of the group asked for help in the Emergencies Ministry. Arrived on all-terrain vehicles and ATV rescuers found tourists on the shore, where they warmed up by the fire. One of the boys showed signs of frostbite. The child was provided with warm clothes, taken from a remote area and handed over to doctors. The rest of the participants refused to evacuate and decided to stay in the tent camp.
After the incident, the Investigative Committee organized a pre-investigation check on the provision of services that do not meet security requirements. Specialists will have to establish the causes and circumstances of the incident, as well as give a legal assessment of the organization of the alloy. Following the audit, a procedural decision will be made.
