11 members of ethnic gang arrested for theft and assault

The motions of the investigation to elect a preventive measure for 11 accused of a series of thefts of property of residents of Yekaterinburg were considered by the Leninsky District Court of the city.

The defendants are members of an ethnic organized criminal group that came to the region to commit illegal acts. This is reported by the press service of the courts of the Sverdlovsk region.

The charge was brought depending on the role of each participant under part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and paragraph "a" of part 4 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. According to the investigation, the defendants committed the theft of mobile phones in public transport in the amount of more than 230 thousand rubles, as well as two hooliganisms, accompanied by the use of violence against a passenger and a conductor.

5 women and 6 men of different ages were detained. The measure of restraint for all defendants selected detention: five will remain under arrest until December 2026.
