The Investigative Committee charged the head of the transport company, whose bus was in an accident in the Arkhangelsk region. This was reported by the press service of the TFR. In the accident on September 11, 13 people died.
The head of the carrier was accused of providing services that do not meet safety requirements, which caused the death of two or more people by negligence (part 3 of Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). According to investigators, the woman knew about systematic traffic violations by the bus driver (more than 40 times in a year and a half), but did not remove him from passenger traffic.
The head of the company also did not control the passage of mandatory medical examinations by the driver and compliance with the regime of work and rest. In particular, for the previous 15 days, he was given only one day off. On September 11, the driver was admitted to a long flight “in the presence of fatigue and decreased concentration”, which led to an accident.
The TFR reported that the accused was detained. Investigators will request that the court remand her in custody.
The accident occurred on the evening of September 11 on the border of Kholmogorsk and Primorsky districts. GAZelle, following the route Severodvinsk-Bereznik, tried to overtake the car and collided with the Renault timber carrier following in the opposite direction. In the accident killed 13 people, including both drivers and four children. Seven passengers were injured. The authorities of the Arkhangelsk region declared September 12 a day of mourning.
