“The human factor is considered as the main cause: during the preparation of the aircraft for the flight, oxygen flared up, which was refueled by the liner,” Red Wings said in a statement.
Telegram-channel SHOT wrote that the incident occurred on the evening of September 20. The Red Wings Superjet 100 was scheduled to fly from Yekaterinburg to Magnitogorsk. During the filling of the oxygen tank in the nose of the fuselage, a fire began. SHOT wrote about two pilots and two flight attendants who were on board at the time and managed to run out of the cabin.
The airline reported that the flight was performed on a reserve ship “due to the smell of burning in the aircraft, which appeared when refueling the aircraft with oxygen.” The Ural Transport Prosecutor’s Office confirmed smoke in the nose of the fuselage of the aircraft while it was in the airport parking lot. According to the agency, there were no passengers and crew on board.
