Man killed in bear attack in Krasnoyarsk region

A 39-year-old man died in a bear attack near the village of Potapovo in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, according to the SU IC for the region in Max.

According to the Agency, the deceased worked as a logger and guarded special equipment. From his injuries, the man died on the spot. Investigators are investigating all the circumstances of the incident.

The department warned that visiting forests in the region is now dangerous due to the high activity of bears.

In August, at least 200 potentially dangerous brown bears were shot in Siberia. The invasion of bears is also noted in the regions of the Far East. In the Ministry of Natural Resources, the increase in cases was associated with an increase in the population of animals, a failure of root crops in the forests and the loss of fear of man.
