Bastrykin requested a report on the case of desecration of the memorial in the Tver region
Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) Alexander Bastrykin demanded to report to him on the investigation of the criminal case on the desecration of the Rzhevsky memorial to the Soviet soldier in the Tver region. This was reported by the press service of the TFR.

The criminal case was opened after a video appeared on social media showing a group of young people walking near the monument. In the video, one of the girls described the memorial with obscene words. The investigation is conducted under Part 3 of Art. 354.1 of the Criminal Code (public desecration of symbols of military glory of Russia).
Mr. Bastrykin instructed the acting head of the Investigative Directorate of the TFR in the Tver region Sergey Shepelev to provide information about the progress of the investigation and the circumstances of the incident. Investigative authorities are taking the necessary measures to identify those involved in the incident.
The Rzhev Memorial is dedicated to the memory of Soviet soldiers who died in the battles near Rzhev in 1942-1943 during the Great Patriotic War.
