There were five people on board the helicopter and no survivors. After the crash, the aircraft caught fire, causing the bodies of the dead to be badly damaged. The causes of the emergency have not yet been established. The businessman and his wife were flying from a country house in Gandham, East Chicomba.
Viknell Chivayo was one of Zimbabwe's most famous businessmen. He made a fortune on major government projects in energy and medical equipment supplies. Mr. Chiwayo has been in close contact with Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa and other African politicians. According to local media, in 2024, the businessman said that his fortune exceeds $100 million.
