The plane crash with a Tu-95 military aircraft in the Mazanovsk district of the Amur region occurred on September 29 during a training flight. The crew commander, co-pilot, navigator, navigator-operator, flight engineer, radio operator, as well as the deputy commander of the regiment and the squadron commander were killed. Their photo portraits with names and surnames were installed on the memorial in the garrison house of officers.
There were nine people on board at the time of the crash. One of the soldiers survived, but his state of health and the nature of his injuries were not reported. He was found near the crashed plane.
