The attack took place in the Chinong village area. According to the agency, the predator attacked the pensioner when he moored to the shore and unloaded the boat. The man resisted the animal, then was able to climb back into the boat and sail to a safe distance.
Interior Ministry officials have started checking. The regional police warned residents about the high activity of bears and urged to refrain from hiking in the forest.
On the eve in the region recorded two deaths: 2 and 4 October from the attack of predators killed 71-year-old man in the Ust-Ilimsky district and 55-year-old worker in the Kazachinsk-Lensky district.
