A private vaccine company used a fake quality passport for a batch of the drug. A criminal case has been opened, the Moscow prosecutor's office said. The name of the company is not specified in the press release. As explained to Interfax in law enforcement agencies, we are talking about Vetbiohima, which produces a vaccine for dogs Multican-8.
According to prosecutors, the company placed a fake passport in an electronic information system when the vaccine was put into circulation for veterinary use. The case was initiated under the article on the manufacture or trafficking of forged documents (Part 5 of Art. 327 of the Criminal Code). The ministry added that it was monitoring the progress and results of the preliminary investigation, but did not provide other details.
In August, it became known about cases of dog deaths after vaccination with Multican-8: complaints were received from pet owners in Yaroslavl, Moscow, Moscow region, St. Petersburg, Kostroma. In September, the Rosselkhoznadzor suspended the circulation of Multican-8 series No. 20, 21, as well as the Multican-6 series No. 11, 12. The agency identified in the 20th series of the vaccine the Auieschi virus (known as pseudo-rabies, provokes itching and neurological disorders in animals). Vetbiohim stopped the release of the Multican vaccines. Prosecutors found violations in the production of the vaccine.
