A group of employees of Russian Railways in senior positions received money from a commercial company for priority and prompt maintenance of its freight cars at stations, as well as for the transfer of official information about the state of rolling stock. To cover up their actions, employees of the railway company transferred bribes to other officials of Russian Railways JSC.
The organizer of a group of bribe-givers, the deputy head of the center for organizing the work of railway stations, received six years of a strict regime colony, as well as a fine of 90.5 million rubles. The punishment of five years imprisonment and a fine of 90 million rubles. each assigned to another member of the group with a similar position and the dispatcher of the train section. They confiscated property for 88.08 million rubles.
The first deputy head of the operational wagon depot, who received money for operational information about the condition of the cars, was given nine years of a strict regime colony, as well as a fine of 2.4 million rubles. The head of the center for organizing the work of railway stations, who received bribes for connivance, was sentenced to three years in prison, as well as a fine of 1.2 million rubles. Three more bribe-givers were convicted earlier, they were assigned real terms of imprisonment. The investigation is ongoing against another member of the group.
