The appeals court of the Moscow city court commuted the punishment of blogger and business coach Ayaz Shabutdinov to six years in a general regime colony. He was charged with 113 counts of fraud. In October 2025, the Presnensky district court of Moscow appointed the defendant seven years.
In his complaint against the verdict, Ayaz Shabutdinov’s lawyer Kaloi Akhilgov pointed out that his client had compensated the damage to most of the victims, he had a family, including young children, he had not been tried before, he was characterized positively in the pre-trial detention center, he admitted guilt.
Earlier, speaking at the trial in his criminal case, Ayaz Shabutdinov said that “he came into business with a sincere desire to help people, teach them to earn and discover their opportunities.” He added that he acknowledged his mistake and wanted to correct it.
According to the investigation, the blogger sold educational courses on creating a profitable business, but customers did not receive the promised result. The cost of the courses ranged from 150 thousand to 350 thousand rubles. The total damage in the case exceeded 57 million rubles.
